Team Truro triumphed at the Junior Interclub, with our 8-12 year old team, in January. They followed this with an emphatic victory at the ASA Cornwall County Swimming Championships, retaining their beloved Ellis Cup. As top point scorers for the Distance events they also picked up yet more prestigious silverware with the John Hickman Distance Cup, and at the recent ASA Cornwall Intermediate Championships Truro City continued their winning streak.
What a successful start Truro City Swimming Club have made to 2016, most notably retaining the Ellis Cup. We are now looking ahead to the regionals and hope to continue this wave of success.

TRURO CITY ACHIEVE GREAT SUCCESS AT THE CORNWALL COUNTY ASA INTERMEDIATE GALA 2016
“A very successful day for the Truro team with a whole hoard of superb swims. A couple of swimmers even managed to secure County entry times for 2016”, Head Coach Emily Dart.
This year the Cornwall County ASA Intermediate Gala held at Penzance Leisure Centre was a buzzing busy affair and for those Truro City champsters who had hit the tight qualification targets it was a highly competitive meet. For some Truro swimmers this was their first big gala experience and for others it provided a chance to swim in extra events from those they had already competed in at the Counties. In a long day of fast and furious swimming Team Truro came away with pbs and medals aplenty. Click here for full story and results.

TRURO CITY SMASH IT AGAIN FOR AN EMPHATIC VICTORY AT THE JUNIOR INTERCLUB 2016
With a clear victory of 60 points ahead of rival clubs Truro City oozed class and confidence across 9 – 12 year old age groups at the annual Junior Interclub competition held at Penzance Leisure Centre on Saturday 16th January.
Truro City went in as reigning champions. This year all Cornwall clubs competed in the one gala, held over two sessions and covering individual 50m stroke events and team freestyle and medley relays with the exciting boys and girls freestyle canons (involving two swimmers from each age group) starting and ending the gala. Each event had two heats and Truro City notched up an impressive amount of first places with the majority of other swims scoring highly in the top four helping to maximise points. Team spirit was excellent and every swimmer was cheered on heartily by their team mates.
Coach Emily was justly proud of her juniors for giving their all and many came away with PBs which bodes well for the rapidly approaching County Championships in February. Click here for more details
