If you want to be the best then come and train and swim for us! Consistently Cornwall's Premier Swimming Club, Truro City has a warm welcome for swimmers with aspirations and ability to develop and be successful in swimming.

The main club training night is Wednesdays; for the full training programme click HERE

We train 46 weeks per year including half terms; with a short break at Christmas and Easter.

Sessions begin at 17:30 at Truro Leisure Centre and continue the evening until approximately 21:45pm depending on ability.

Membership includes ASA Category 2 (competitive) for 3 or 4 sessions else Cat 1. Both include Regional and County ASA Fees.

Beginners
For Beginners and Improvers there are two sessions available each week, the first on Wednesday evenings and the second is on Sunday afternoons at 4:00 at Truro Leisure Centre pool;

• Truro City Swimming Club appreciate that many parents would like their child/ren to have a trial before commiting themselves;To take advantage of this please see Bev Cooke at the poolside Club Shop around 17:15 on a Wednesday;
• You will be asked to fill out a Trial Membership Form (or complete and print out the ON Line Form) and pay £10.00 for 2 swims including a yellow swim cap to identify your child;
• When your child starts a trial session, s/he will be assessed by a coach and put into a suitable group;
• These trial swims are full training sessions with other club members;After these introductory swims, you will be asked whether the child wishes to become a full member;
• At this time you will be asked to pay the Membership Fee dependant on joining month click HERE for the fees;
• As a swimmer shows potential, they will be encouraged to compete, but this is in no way mandatory!

Competetive Swimmers
We welcome Competitive swimmers who are new to the area or find Truro a more convenient venue given its central location.

• You should arrive ready to swim at 20:00 on Wednesdays, when the training session starts;

• Truro City Swimming Club has been the top competitive swimming club in Cornwall for the past 7 years and we intend to remain so and have 13 teachers and coaches to enable this;

Masters Swimmers
There is a Masters section for those over 25 years which welcomes adult improvers.

• You are also able to take a trial Membership for £7.50 as above (see beginners);
• You should arrive ready to swim at 20:00 on Wednesdays, when the Masters session starts;

Competing
Normally a person who wants to compete, will start by being timed during the training sessions, followed by being entered in Club and local galas.

• The County Championships are held in February and March of each year, and can lead to qualification for the Western Counties;We regularly travel to Millfield School to train in their 50 metre pool;
• The Club is the highest placed in Cornwall competing nationally in the 'Speedo League' racing successfully against teams such as Millfield, Plymouth Leander, Taunton Deane and Kelly College;
• Our 'Speedo League' squad race in the Division 1 of the Western League and starts at 10 years old and this current age group is extremely successful.
